Chicagoland (Exhibitions)

Overview

CHICAGOLAND was an exhibition of designed objects from Chicago based designers held at Wanted Design during New York Design Week in 2014. It showcased new work by AKMD, Chilab, Collection WEST, Materious, Michel Savona, Parsons & Charlesworth, Steven Haulenbeek, studioBA and Sung Jang Laboratory and was curated and organized by Morgan Walsh, with support from Michael Dreeben, Steven Haulenbeek, and Angie West and with graphic design by Michael Savona. The exhibition was generously supported by Manifold, West Supply and an Individual Artist Program Grant from the City of Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs & Special Events (DCASE), as well as a grant from the Illinois Arts Council, a state agency funded by the National Endowment for the Arts.

In addition to exhibiting the Lander table, we designed and helped to fabricate the exhibition using locally sourced timber to create a set of pallet-like platforms that could be easily stacked and reconfigured. The exhibition was later re-staged, using the same system, in Chicago during Neocon.
